We are seeking a dynamic and motivated contract-to-hire Counter Sales Representative to join our vibrant team in the Construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving and increasing counter sales, entering orders, and providing exemplary customer service. This role is perfect for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, enjoys the thrill of closing a sale, and is passionate about the construction industry. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Drive counter sales by engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and recommending suitable products or solutions.
2. Manage all aspects of order processing, including order entry, follow-up and timely delivery.
3. Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to client inquiries, resolving issues and maintaining professional relationships.
4. Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, business flow, sales process, and market dynamics to provide valuable insights and sales guidance to customers.
5. Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to optimize sales strategies.
6. Develop and maintain a customer database, ensuring that all customer interactions are documented and followed up on.
7. Monitor inventory to ensure that product is in stock and inform customers of any delays or issues with their orders.
8. Handle customer returns and complaints in a professional and effective manner.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in counter sales, customer service, or a related role in the construction industry.
2. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and strong customer service skills.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers.
4. Proficient in order processing systems and other related software.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer complaints and issues effectively.
6. Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment is a plus.
7. Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
9. High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in a related field is a plus.
