Our team of talented people works to improve the health outcomes of the communities we serve. As an Optum employee, you will provide support to the Owensboro health account. They are a nonprofit system with over 200 providers at more than 20 locations, 3 outpatient facilities, a certified medical fitness facility, a surgical weight loss center and the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center. This position is part time.  Process walk-in patients and visitors Ensures all necessary demographic and billing information is obtained for patients and entered in the computer system timely and accurately. Explains financial responsibilities for services received, payment options, and collection procedures to patients and/or parties responsible for payment. Counsels patients regarding insurance benefits and recommends alternative sources of payment and/or financial assistance when appropriate. You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Ability to work per diem 1+ years of related work experience, including data entry ~ Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology ~ ICD 9 or 10 and CPT coding experience **PLEASE NOTE** The sign on bonus is only available to external candidates.
