Full Time Staff Accountant

This Jobot Job is hosted by: Salary: $30 - $36 per hour We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of financial principles. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers, preparing and analyzing budgets, and performing general bookkeeping. This position will also be responsible for job costing and project accounting. The individual must be well-versed in all aspects of financial management ranging from simple accounting to broad investment and banking operations. The goal is to ensure the company's financial operations run smoothly and support our company's growth. Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process. Assist with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances. Liaise with our Controller to improve financial procedures. Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Proven experience as a Staff Accountant with a minimum of 2 years in the construction industry. Hands-on experience with job costing and project accounting. Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with relevant accounting software (preferably Sage or Vista). Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Advanced degree in Accounting.
