Our growing client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in the medical industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, general ledger entries, and lease accruals. Oversee and manage general ledger accounting functions, including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
Perform month-end close procedures, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, ensuring accuracy of the general ledger, and completion of account reconciliations.
Manage lease accruals and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards and regulations.
Provide support and guidance to junior accounting staff.
Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
Identify and suggest process improvements to create efficiencies and strengthen internal controls.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Minimum of 1+ years of experience in an accounting role.
Proven experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
Proficiency in accounting software and experience with a software system implementation.
Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
Prior experience in the medical industry is a plus.
