- Lead the development and implementation of cost accounting systems and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Conduct regular cost analyses to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare and present detailed monthly cost reports to senior management, highlighting trends, variances, and potential areas of concern.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather and analyze production data, ensuring accurate cost allocation.
- Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing expert advice on cost-related issues.
- Monitor and analyze inventory, including raw materials, supplies, and finished goods.
- Utilize ERP systems to optimize cost accounting processes and improve data accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary information and addressing any issues raised.
- Continually develop knowledge and skills in cost accounting, staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the CPG, retail, or manufacturing sectors.
- Experience with inventory cost analysis is preferred.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and GAAP.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and produce meaningful reports.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Knowledge of the medical industry would be an asset.
