Job Details- Shift: Mon – Friday 7a - 3:30pm
The Inventory Management & Purchasing Coordinator has the primary responsibility of increasing and maintaining company profitability by sustaining accurate inventory levels and make purchases as needed.
- Understand the common gauges and material grades of steel used for each job
- Work with quality on any non-conforming metals
- Cycle counts daily raw steel that is used regularly scheduled production runs; create daily count sheet for high-risk parts, monitor, and adjust orders accordingly.
- Ensure that the purchased products and materials meet specific technical specifications
- Performs cycle counting, bin audits, and inventory reconciliation.
- Move materials throughout the facility via forklift as required.
- Communicates the status level of parts and materials using manual reporting methods to insure parts availability.
- Review customer forecasts, releasing/ordering materials based off lead time and projected volume
- Track & organize scrap pieces
- Capable of working individually or within a team
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Above-average Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong communicator and teamwork-oriented
- Organized and exhibits a sense of urgency when necessary.
- Strong sense of quality focus and takes initiative to lead others and drive projects.
Experience:
- Requires a High School Diploma or work experience within the steel/metals industry
- 2+ years of experience as an Inventory specialist or in a similar role
- 1 years of experience specifically in metals / steel manufacturing preferred
- Proficient knowledge of computer systems such as Excel, word processing and managing files and records.
