We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced AR & Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team in the Transportation industry. This is a permanent, full-time position with a hybrid work model that allows you to work from home two days a week! The successful candidate will be a key player in our finance team, playing a significant role in optimizing our billing and accounts receivable processes. Manage all activities in the accounts receivable function including billing, cash receipts, and revenue recognition.
Analyze existing billing workflows, identifying opportunities for process streamlining, automation, and enhancement.
Collaborate with the sales and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely billing of products and services.
Maintain up-to-date billing system and customer files.
Conduct account research and analysis, and resolve billing discrepancies.
Prepare and present reports related to accounts receivable and billing activities.
Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as state and federal regulations.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure all billing related issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
Assist in month-end closing and audits as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2+ years of experience in billing and accounts receivable, preferably in the Engineering or Transportation industry.
Proficiency in SAP and other billing applications.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
