A bit about us: Position Summary:
The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing leadership, supervision, and administration to ensure a secure and healthy work environment for both employees and subcontractors associated with us. The primary responsibility is to lead safety initiatives, prevent accidents, and communicate safety conditions to HSE management and divisional leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement policies, procedures, programs, and safety plans aligned with general industry standards for Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Service operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and client-specific requirements.
- Stay updated on local, state, and federal regulations and remain familiar with relevant environmental laws applicable to various locations.
- Provide leadership with insights into innovative industry trends, presenting ideas for review, and implementing approved initiatives across the division.
- Chair the Safety Committee and actively participate in the development and delivery of field safety orientation training.
- Assist divisional leadership and the risk department in subcontractor evaluation for prequalification and work execution.
- Conduct regular site visits to coordinate inspections, ensuring the correct implementation of safety policies and procedures for employees and subcontractors.
- Coordinate joint jobsite visits with divisional leadership, subcontractors, and clients.
- Offer basic first aid skills, CPR, and workplace accident prevention coordination.
- Utilize testing equipment to assess hazard exposures in working areas and provide daily reports with recommendations for corrective action.
- Investigate accidents following program procedures to determine root causes for recommending preventive safety measures.
- Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions, or behaviors.
- Assist in the development of standardized job safety analysis (JSA), corporate safety and health management program (SHMP), and project-specific safety plans (PSSP).
- Conduct weekly safety meetings with workers, instructing them on project safety practices and requirements.
- Demonstrate equipment use and conduct safety training sessions.

Job Details Requirements:
- Strategic thinking abilities with the capability to work within a team and independently.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related technical field.
- 7 years of industrial safety experience with 1 year as an on-site/regional safety manager.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED Trainer certification.
- Working knowledge of government regulations, hazard control methods, and industrial hygiene.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct training and influence organizational behavior.
- Strong analytical skills with effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing various projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with the industry and awareness of the Company’s competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary.
