We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Construction Industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for numbers, and is eager to make a significant impact on our company's growth. You will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our construction projects, including job costing, project accounting, and revenue recognition. This is a permanent position that offers the chance to work on a variety of challenging projects and the opportunity to grow within the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial performance of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of financial data.
  • Manage job costing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budget.
  • Handle project accounting, including tracking and reporting of project costs, revenues, and profitability.
  • Implement and maintain the percentage of completion accounting method for ongoing projects.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Continuously improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a project accounting role within the construction industry.
  • Proficient in job costing, project accounting, and percentage of completion method.
  • Solid understanding of construction accounting and revenue recognition.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with accounting software, preferably in a construction setting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, with superior organizational skills.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a plus.
