We are on the hunt for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role will provide the right candidate with an opportunity to make a significant impact within our organization, where innovation and continuous improvement are highly valued and rewarded. As a Senior Property Accountant, you will be responsible for the financial reporting and analysis of a portfolio of multi-family properties, utilizing your expertise in Yardi and property management.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage a portfolio of multi-family properties.
  • Utilize Yardi software to process and reconcile all financial transactions, including rent rolls, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
  • Provide support for external audits and tax preparations.
  • Continually strive to optimize and streamline accounting procedures and systems.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (preferred but will take additional experience in lieu)
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in property accounting, preferably in the multi-family sector. 5+ years required with no degree
  • Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for tasks.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
