Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Permanent Senior Financial Reporting Accountant. This pivotal role is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports in accordance with various regulatory and statutory requirements. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to our financial reporting team, working closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to make a significant impact within a fast-paced, growing organization in the Mortgage industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal policies.
  • Work on Sox compliance, ensuring all financial reporting controls are in place and effective.
  • Utilize XBRL for financial data exchange, and ensure accurate tagging of financial statements.
  • Perform account reconciliations and prepare journal entries as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Review and implement SOX internal controls, identifying opportunities for process and control enhancements.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and support to other teams and departments.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives and provide ad-hoc reports as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, preferably in the Mortgage industry.
  • Strong knowledge of SEC reporting, Sox compliance, XBRL, reconciliations, journal entries, and SOX internal controls.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office suite, particularly strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
