This role requires a deep understanding of real estate tax law, excellent client management skills, and the ability to provide top-notch tax services. Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of our real estate tax portfolio, including tax planning, preparation, and compliance.
- Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations related to real estate and ensure our organization's compliance.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on tax matters to senior management and clients.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored tax solutions.
- Manage and resolve any tax-related issues or disputes that may arise.
- Prepare and review tax returns and related documents.
- Manage 1031 Exchanges and other complex real estate tax transactions.
- Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure seamless and efficient tax operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a related field is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a tax manager role, preferably in the real estate sector.
- In-depth knowledge of real estate tax law and regulations.
- Proven experience in tax preparation, tax compliance, and providing tax services.
- Strong technical knowledge of tax rules and regulations.
- Experience with 1031 Exchanges and other complex real estate tax transactions.
- Excellent client management skills, with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in tax software and other relevant computer applications.
