We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Director of Internal Audit to join our thriving manufacturing industry. This role requires a strategic thinker who can lead our internal audit function and ensure that the company's financial and operational activities comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in internal audit, risk assessment, and governmental auditing standards, with a proven track record of success in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the internal audit function and manage the development and implementation of a risk-based internal audit plan.
2. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop audit strategies to mitigate identified risks.
3. Oversee the execution of internal audits in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) guidelines.
4. Prepare and present audit reports to the senior management team, highlighting areas of concern and proposing corrective actions.
5. Ensure compliance with the Yellow Book (Government Auditing Standards) in all audit activities.
6. Develop and maintain productive relationships with all levels of management, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
7. Monitor the implementation of management's corrective actions in response to audit findings.
8. Provide guidance and training to the internal audit team to ensure high performance and continuous professional development.
9. Stay abreast of industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure the company's compliance and risk management strategies are up-to-date.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or equivalent is preferred.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation is required.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal audit.
4. Extensive knowledge of internal auditing, risk assessment, and control frameworks.
5. Proficiency in applying the principles and practices of the IIA, GAAS, AICPA, and Yellow Book in audit assignments.
6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
7. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
9. High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical conduct.
10. Proficiency in using audit software and other computer applications.
