Prepares audit statements, schedules and exhibits to reflect the finally determined adjustments and tax liabilities; prepares statements of account; Prepares audit statements, exhibits, schedules, basic stipulation and decision documents for the court and other appropriate documents to reflect issue disposition and effect case closure.

Calculates the interest for cases where taxes, penalties and interest are due which result from application of one or more sections of the code and regulations. Determines and computes the interest relating to Interest Netting issues.

If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.

* Receives telephone calls and visitors, determines the nature of business, gives routine and non-routine information, answers questions in accordance with Service policies and operations or directs callers and visitors to appropriate person or office.
* Prepares and types a variety of correspondence, reports, forms, requisitions, requests for personnel actions and legal documents using an electronic typewriter, word processor, or personal computer.
* Maintains supervisor's calendar, schedules appointments and engagements, assembles background material, prepares notes regarding topics to be discussed, makes travel arrangements, and prepares travel vouchers.
* Where applicable, provides basic coordination and pertinent information on office functions to subordinate clerical staff and managers and other organizations. Coordinates with the appropriate higher level office to ensure clerical staff receive necessary training.

Bachelors degree or four (4) years of education above high school in any field of study from an accredited college or university.

For example, one full year of academic study (30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 formal classroom hours) beyond the second year is equal to 6 months of specialized experience. By the closing date (or if this is an open continuous announcement, by the cut-off date) specified in this job announcement, current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment. Applicants must be a qualified typist with a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute (based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors).
