Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. <ul><li>This unit is located at the Asheville Specialty Hospital.</li><li>This is a 34 bed, long term acute care unit.</li><li>The average patient stay is about 30 days.</li><li>The patient population includes but is not limited to serious medical conditions such as: severe wounds, cardiac and renal failure, traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, severe surgical complications, and major trauma.</li><li>They also provide other services and treatments such as: renal dialysis, radiation therapy, pain management, nutritional therapy, pet therapy, and more.</li></ul>
What you will do in this role:

<ul><li>Participates in the implementation of nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse.</li><li>Obtains and records initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care, including admissions data, vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, blood glucose levels, intake and output, and calorie counts.</li><li>Documents observations, interactions, patient responses to performed activities, and any physical or behavioral changes at time of occurrence. Reports observations of individual patients to the RN/Team Leader.</li><li>Assists with mobility by regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients. Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Echo Cardiac Sonographer, you would perform all established echocardiography procedures. While communicating the nature of the procedure to the patient, you will address any questions or concerns.

<ul><li>You would recognize sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissue, structures and blood flow while adjusting scanning techniques to optimize image quality and spectral waveform.</li><li>Analyze sonographic findings throughout the course of the examination so a comprehensive exam is complete and sufficient data is provided to the physician to render a final diagnosis.</li><li>You will initiate additional scanning techniques or administer contrast agents as indicated by the examination.</li><li>Work in partnership with other healthcare professionals to provide the best medical care possible for all patients.</li><li>You will perform stress echo testing when needed.</li></ul>
