As an Optum employee, you will provide support to the Owensboro health account. They are a nonprofit system with over 200 providers at more than 20 locations, 3 outpatient facilities, a certified medical fitness facility, a surgical weight loss center and the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center. We are continually searching for people like you to help us provide the most innovative health care services. This position is per diem. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 2200 E Parrish Ave Owensboro, KY 42303.
We offer 8 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 08:00AM – 04:30PM CST, Monday – Friday. Training will be conducted onsite.
May communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities and staff.
May be responsible for managing the referral work queue, entering patient demographic information, and scanning documents into an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
May provide administrative support for Physicians or Nurse Practitioners.

Must be 18 years of age OR older
Ability to train onsite for the first 8 weeks (full time) between Monday – Friday, 08:00AM – 04:30PM CST.
Ability to work per diem hours between 07:00AM – 06:00PM CST
1+ years of related work experience, including data entry
~ ICD 9 or 10 and CPT coding experience
~ Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology
