A description of the business units can be found at: Information Technology (IT) Positions - Operating Units (OUs) Outside of IT, Multiple Locations If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position. * Serves as key advisor to the Director in planning the overall management policies, programs, and short or long-range plans. * Directs activities of subordinate analysts on teams applying life cycle processes and procedures from concept formulation through deployment. * Represents the Director at high-level meetings with executives from the National Office, field, other government agencies, Congressional Staff, and private vendors. Independently, or as a leader of a group, undertakes special projects and studies for the Director as related to the more complex facets of IRS business systems modernization. * Supports operational and technical standards, procedures, practices, and controls relative to delivering IT modernization by involvement in and support of the Enterprise Life Cycle, performance metrics and contractual standards. Experience with operations, organizations and procedures sufficient to determine appropriate action to take and the ability to communicate and apply this knowledge as needed; Experience with interpretation of relevant laws, regulations, rulings, policies or procedures in order to research and advise on specific questions or problems; Experience communicating orally and in writing on a multitude of subjects and to meet and deal effectively with a wide range of co-workers, executives and leaders within and/or outside the Service; Experience with Services mission, organization, policies, practices and procedures, including the program areas specific to the Business Division.
