Quality Engineer (Manufacturing, Lean & Six Sigma)

About the Role The Manufacturing Quality Engineer provides oversight and guidance in manufacturing operations. They coach manufacturing personnel on proper compliance and empower them to identify and escalate quality issues, to ensure quality products. Our Manufacturing Quality Engineers not only play a part in the design of our products but also in ensuring that our process is as efficient as possible. What You’ll Do Coordinate with Procurement and Supplier Quality teams to address nonconforming parts from incoming quality inspections. Drive supplier quality team and suppliers to resolve component quality issues. Provide daily support to the Incoming Quality Control inspection teams. Ensure that needed tools, documentation, and processes are in place. Update ZT Systems’ Cosmetic Inspection Criteria based on inputs from customer, supplier, and engineering teams. Root cause issues and develop corrective/preventive solutions by working with Manufacturing Engineering, IT, and production teams to update processes, add system validations Review and monitor long-term quality data and drive quality-focused continuous improvement projects Assist team in internal and external audits (ISO, customer, certification); have strong knowledge of production/warehouse operations to answer process questions & lead tours Update work instructions as needed and deliver training to manufacturing teams Collect and analyze defect data from relevant sources & use Tableau to highlight areas of concern for the team to focus improvement efforts Participate in Weekly Quality Review meetings with key stakeholders, present incoming inspection yields and KPIs to management Effectively communicate issue descriptions, improvement progress, and latest status to management Participate in LEAN initiatives, and engage Six Sigma tools for process improvements What You Bring ~ Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering ~5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment ~ Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with various groups in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (experience in a high-volume electronics manufacturing/testing environment is strongly preferred) ~ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications ~ Knowledge of Bill of Material Structure, GD&T, and Quality Management System ~ Analytical mindset with the ability to adapt to changing environments and tasks ~ Demonstrated experience in analyzing and solving complex problems ~ Strong organizational abilities and capability to manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously ~ Experience with Quality audit techniques, ISO 9001/TL9000, and AQL Inspection Sampling ~ Data analysis is a strong plus (Tableau, MS Power BI, etc.) #LI-onsite #LI-PW   About ZT Systems At ZT Systems, you’ll get to do work you are proud of alongside smart, passionate people.
