Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Informatics Manager assist with administration of the various imaging informatics systems. Assist with systems project design, documentation, training and installation. Coordinate project implementation with vendors associated with specific products. Responsible for imaging information systems development and maintenance, including web-site, clinical applications, and software support and/or development. Ensures adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.

Detailed responsibilities:
* PROJECTS - Provide support, maintenance and administration for assigned IT projects. Prepare and present status reports on assigned projects
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
* SYSTEMS ANALYSIS - In collaboration with IT personnel, analyze trouble shoot or drop IS systems and operations to improve system operations; monitor the overdue loan, URS, suspended charge and other related department reports
* SYSTEM ANALYSIS - Assist in trouble shooting interfaces between various information systems like PACS, RIS, and dictation
* SYSTEMS - Understand and maintain knowledge of all Hospitals information, software, hardware, and operating systems or those specifically assigned. Assist with system maintenance and modification as needed
* DESIGN - Design and implement information, software, hardware, and operating systems
* CONFIGURATION - Prepare and approve policies, standards and direction for system configuration
* SOFTWARE - Implement software on new and existing systems for department or individual use
* IMPLEMENTATION - Direct configuration and implementation of server and client side systems applications
* MAINTENANCE - Maintain hardware and software systems
* NEEDS ANALYSIS - Communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical personnel to understand and define user needs, gather and analyze data and recommend solutions
* PROJECTS - Head medium sized project teams coordinating progress from start to completion
* MANUALS - Prepare and approve development, updating and maintenance of operating/training manuals
* TESTING - Research and test leading edge systems technologies
* STANDARDIZATION - Oversee in the Hospitals hardware and software standardization efforts as appropriate and assigned
* COMMUNICATION - Communicate with technical and non-technical personnel on systems issues to understand and respond to user needs
* TRAINING - Collaborate with appropriate personnel on the training of IT and Hospitals personnel in new applications and changes to systems as applicable, including appropriate staff on all projects requiring training on existing or new systems
* LIAISON - Serve as a liaison for assigned area; coordinate activities in collaboration with other staff professionals, divisions, departments and organizations; may chair steering committees

Related Education and Experience may be substituted for one another on a year for year basis.

* Bachelor's Degree

Education specialization:

* HIM, Computer Science, IT or Radiologic
Nonessential:
* Health Informatics or Computer Science or Info Technology

Experience:
Essential:
1 year PACS, RIS, Health Care Imaging, Imaging Informatics or related IT field

Nonessential:
3 years PACS, RIS, Health Care Imaging, Imaging Informatics or related IT field

Credentials:

Nonessential:
* Certified Imaging Informatics Professional w/in 1 Year
* ARRT (R) or NMTCB (CNMT) or ARDMS

Physical Conditions:
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
