This position is on a hybrid schedule working onsite in Union City, CA 3 days a week and 2 days remote We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in the medical device industry. You will be leading the design and development of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, including drive trains and fixtures. You will also be responsible for writing clear and concise work instructions for various engineering procedures. This role requires strong leadership skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for detail. Lead the design and development of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, including drive trains and fixtures. Write clear and concise work instructions for various engineering procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet performance and cost objectives. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. Use creative problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot complex engineering issues. Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization’s established policies and objectives. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the Engineering or Medical Devices industry. Proven experience in mechanical fixture design and electrical fixture design. Proficient in designing electro-mechanical drive trains. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers. Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative approach to new challenges. Familiarity with medical device industry regulations and standards.
