We are a family-owned construction company looking to hire a Controller on a permanent basis This Jobot Job is hosted by: Ryan Rubino We are a family-owned construction company looking to hire a Controller on a permanent basis We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team in the construction industry. This role is integral to our financial management team and requires a candidate with strong expertise in construction management, financial management, cost control, accounting, forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, job costing, controller, financial analysis, GL journal entries, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports. Manage all aspects of accounting operations including billing, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition. Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances. Conduct regular ledger activities, including GL journal entries. Ensure compliance with all internal processes and legal requirements. Prepare and present financial reports to the management team, stakeholders, and external auditors. Perform financial analysis, develop appropriate action plans and forecasts, and advise the management team on potential risks and opportunities. Collaborate with project managers and other department leaders to help them understand the financial impact of decisions and to achieve budget goals. Lead continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and practices. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proficient in construction accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong knowledge of construction management, financial management, cost control, accounting, forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, job costing, controller duties, financial analysis, and GL journal entries. Proven ability to prepare financial statements and reports. Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations. Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, and understanding of GAAP. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
