The Controller is responsible for the accounting needs of the organization; including timely and accurate financial reporting that is GAAP compliant, maintaining and enhancing accounting systems and processes, and internal controls. The Controller should be an organized professional with an eye for detail; reliable; self-motivated and work collaboratively with other functions.

Job Details

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primarily responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of the organization's accounting requirements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Primarily responsible for maintenance, controls, training and enhancements of accounting systems and processes.
  • Assist with developing and executing internal controls for accounting systems and processes, cash management, inflows and outflows of cash, and security of assets.
  • Develop, maintain and coordinate needed financial reviews and reconciliations.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and forecast cash requirements.
  • Prepare and present financial reports.
  • Oversee compliance and regulatory requirements, including banking, audit, insurance, and other reporting needs.
  • Assist to develop and execute division of accounting tasks, while ensuring team and organization objectives. Ensure and provide back-up for key accounting operations.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures manual for key accounting operations.
  • Collaborate across functions and our partners as required.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting required. CPA preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of seven years of accounting experience including general ledger, sub-ledgers, close cycle, audit and reporting. Proven work experience in accounting or a related field. High proficiency in Financial and Productivity systems. Proficiency of GAAP required. Non-profit experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills/Competencies: Ability to manage competing priorities and adhere to deadlines. Excellent in Financial and Productivity software. Understanding of applicable laws and regulations. Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking. Strong verbal, non-verbal written, analytical, and persuasive skills. Ability to work collaboratively and independently and be self-directed.
