Our Nuclear Medicine Technologists perform tests for diagnosis and medical research. They prepare and give small doses of radioactive drugs (radiopharmaceuticals) to patients, then use high-level imaging equipment to record images of the radioactive material in the body. They collaborate with doctors, medical physicists, nuclear pharmacists, nurses and administrative staff to provide the best level care. Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic TechnologyTwo-year program or four-year BA program in Radiology Technology followed by training from an accredited Nuclear Medicine ProgramCertified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB), or Registered Radiographer (ARRT)American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT NM) or registry eligible with completion of examination within 9 months of hire and/or certification as an Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTB)Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required within 30 days of employment start dateMinimum of one-year hospital department experience in Nuclear MedicineAble to accurately complete sonography requisitions for the examinations performedExperience with Radiology filing systems to obtain previous examination reportsAble to correctly and safely operate nuclear medicine equipment following orientation period to the department. Routine use of office equipment (phone, fax, pagers)Able to communicate effectively with all patients, physicians, nurses and other medical personnelAble to handle periods of intensity with calm.Able to work in stressful situations while maintaining composure and perform required Nuclear Medicine duties regardless of the patient's conditionThis role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved)Belton Regional Medical Center is an 80+ bed acute care facility.
