Job Details

We're seeking a Mechanical Estimator who provides expertise and support to the preconstruction and operation teams related to fire protection, plumbing and HVAC systems.
The team member is responsible for:
· Developing estimates at all phases of design.
· Coordinating the subcontractor bidding process for CM and hard bid projects.
· Maintaining the mechanical estimating database.
· Providing internal coordination with other team members related to mechanical systems (cost, scheduling, design issues, bidding strategies, and other risk management efforts).
· Supporting business development efforts by assisting with RFP responses and possibly attending project interviews.
· Performing mechanical system material and equipment takeoff.
· Coordinating with equipment and material vendors for current technologies and pricing.
· Developing cost estimates using Timberline/Sage estimating software.
· Understanding the subcontractor market conditions and developing subcontractor bid lists.
· Developing subcontractor bid packages directing specific trade work scopes.
· Reviewing subcontractor bids and proposals for conformance to requested information.
· Discussing estimates and subcontractor bidding results with Owners and Design team members.
· Providing constructability reviews and quality control feedback to designers.
· Developing cost reduction strategies and evaluating value engineering suggestions for cost and schedule impact.


The right candidate will have an Engineering degree with 5+ years of design experience or equal years of mechanical trade estimating experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Have proficiency in (or the desire to learn) digital take-off and estimating software.
